Japan 2023

The journey started with a few days in Shinjuku (Tokyo). After a 2 hour train ride, we arrived for 2 nights in Kawaguchiko to see Fuji-san. A highlight was the Chureito Pagoda and a lovely cafe in the Shimoyoshida main street.

The next destination was Osaka, with a day trip to Kyoto. We finally got to see Kinkakuji and spend some time wandering through Gion, looking for early Sakura blossoms. We spent another half-day in Himeji to see the historic castle and garden.

Finally, we returned to Tokyo and stayed for 5 nights in Sugamo and Shibuya. We were lucky and saw Tokyo in full Sakura bloom.
